I am Krisha Friede, a destination wedding specialist with Bursch Travel and I thought the best way to make sure I am making the brides feel secure and comfortable in what they are booking with me is to become one myself. My husband and I had the opportunity to renew our vows at one of the most romantic and luxurious resorts in the Riveria Maya, El Dorado Royale. This was such an amazing experience! I was able to meet all of the wedding coordinators for El Dorado Royale, El Dorado Seaside, Azul Sensatori and Azul Beach, Sandos Caracol and Marina El Cid Resort in just this one trip and I was able to see each of the resorts set up as if they were having a wedding. We also got to do some cake testing, which was absolutely delicious!
The first 4 days that we were there it rained all day every day than the day of the ceremony I woke up to clear skys and no wind it was beautiful. I spent the morning on the beach and than the afternoon I went to the spa and had a massage and got my hair and make up done. They made me feel so relaxed. I had my own bridal suite and after I got my dress on we headed out and the skies were dark again and they advised me that the ceremony would have to be in the chapel and with in minutes they were able to have the chapel looking beautiful. It was great for me to experience this type of situation and how things work when the weather doesn't go your way. One thing we did during our ceremony was the Sand ceremony. Very similar to the unity candle back in the states, but with the sand ceremony you take 2 colors of sand and pour them into a bottle and make your design together. This was a very unique idea. We were suppose to have a cocktail hour on the beach, however we had to move that into one of the bars. The dinner and after party were a lot of fun! The rain did stop for a few hours and we were able to get in a few pictures on the beach.
This experience was so helpful to me as a destination wedding planner and it was also one of the most romantic things we had ever done together! I would totally recommend this to anyone! I have included some pictures from our vow renewal. The one picture with the 2 ladies is with 2 of the wedding coordinators at El Dorado Royale, they are Carolina Miranda and Priscila Espinosa. Call me if you have any questions regarding vow renewal or a destination wedding!
I don't know if you can help me or not. My husband and I got married in the states October 13.2011, and we want a renewal of vows in Rivieria Maya. We will be there Oct 26th,2011, we will be staying at one of the following Iberostar resorts (booked 5 apple square deal) won't know where til Oct. 26, it's either going to be at the Lindo,Del Mar, or Tucan. I checked into their packages and I don't want to spend 750.00, with no dinner or pictures.. we are going to have a reception when we return home. We would like a small ceramony, pictures, and dinner if possible. I would like to have the ceramony on Oct.31, if possible, (sort of like Oct 13th) plus both dates are his old football numbers of all things , so I know he'd remember.. If you c ould maybe give me some advice on what to do or who to contact. We are leaving home Oct 25th, to stay in Chicago where we are flying out of Oct 26. I'd appreciate any help. I've called Mexico like 5 times and not getting anywhere. I'm getting frustrated and alittle paniced. thanks. Kim Kraus
